Close encounter with a hummingbird (23s video)

These 23 seconds of video I captured with my iPhone 4 don’t even begin to touch the pristine 500 FPS HD footage you can watch free online in NATURE’s Hummingbirds: Magic in the air. Nonetheless it was fun to have this close encounter even if I was a bit nervous with that sharp beak flitting around my face. That red hummingbird feeder in the background is a Hummzinger Ultra Feeder and it works great without attracting any bugs.

The rain continues … fallen palm fronds

Last night the wind shook these fronds from our neighbor’s beautiful palms. The city’s green recycling program won’t take these and they add up quick. If the storm continues as expected tonight there will probably be twice as many to clean up in the morning. AKA trouble in paradise.

So much to be thankful for. Family, health, friends and work. The list is long. It also includes instant-urgent projects that send you rushing to Home Depot too!

I’m also thankful for my new iPhone 4 that filled in as my flashlight and HD video documentarian in the dark, dusty crawlspace under my home. Plus the the AMAZING Otterbox Defender for iPhone 4 case without which I wouldn’t even consider bringing this jewel of an iPhone under the house.
